On February the 29th the Annual Patriarchal Parishes Diocese meeting took place at St. Barbara cathedral

The divine Liturgy was served before the meeting that was lead by the dean Patriarchal Parishes and rector of St. Barbara cathedral Igor Kisil with the clergy of the Patriarchal Parishes co-serving.

After the service the rector addressed the faithful with a sermon on the coming blessed period of the Great Lent and the memory of righteous fathers and mothers.

The Secretary of the Diocese on behalf of the Ladies’ Aid invited everyone to the basement to have a luncheon before the meeting.

After the thanksgiving prayers after the meal, the Secretory – Mr. Roman Lopushinsky welcomed the delegates to the 55th convocation meeting.

Several nominations were made: for an acting chairman – William Shrapko, and a recording secretary – Natasha Borys.
The agenda was approved, and the Secretory read the minutes of the 2019 ADM.

Deacon Andrei Boldireff read the Greating to the Meeting of His Grace Matthew, bishop of Sourozh, with the highlights to the upcoming prominent events of the Orthodox Church and the Patriarchal Parishes in the year of 2020: 50th anniversary of the glorification of St Herman of Alaska, and the 50th anniversary of the establishing of the Partiarchal Parishes in Canada.

The addressing was warmly accepted, with the celebration (in July and December) dates discussion included into the agenda.

Then followed the reports of the fathers rectors and presidents of St. Barbara Cathedral and Orthodox 5 and 9 parish organizations. Father Alexius invited everyone to join the celebration at St Peter and Paul church in Chahor; father Igor Kisil mention by the names all the departed clergy – father Dmitry Sever – and the parishioners of the Patriarchal Parishes; Roman Lopushinsky underlined the growth of the number of the young parishioners due to the new immigration.

Financial report by the treasurer John Prokopchuk followed and the budget was approved.

The meeting for the forming the committee for the discussion of the 125 Anniversary of Orthodoxy in Canada celebration was motioned (and seconded) by the President of Orthodox 9 David Borys.

The rector of St Barbara cathedral and director of St. Tihkon’s children camp made a report on the camp life, that has been successfully establishing for already 20 years. The dates for the camp of 2020 was arranged for July 26-August 7; the sincere gratitude to all the donors and helpers was expressed.

Father rector announced the coming Lenten visit of the Interim Bishop Matthew of Sourozh with the dates and services at the cathedral and churches.

Mr. Roman Lopushinsky was re-elected as the Secretary, and Mr. John Prokopchuk was re-elected as Treasurer.

Sunday of Orthodoxy will take place at St Barbara cathedral this Great Lent.

The Meeting was closed with an accordant prayer of the participants.
