St. Barbara Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Edmonton, Canada.

St. Barbara Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Edmonton, Canada.

Very Reverend Father Sergiy and Deacon Andrei, with families, dear President of the parish Council Roman Lopushinsky, dear members of the Council, Choir members, altar assistants, dear members of the Brotherhood and Sisterhood of the Cathedral of Saint Barbara, our beloved in the Lord brothers and sisters!

My report will consist of two parts: the first one will be a traditional one; the second is a short note regarding church candles – it was prepared upon request of the president of the parish Council Mr. Roman Lopushinsky.

At the beginning of February of this year I took part in the celebrations of the 7th Anniversary of the Enthronization of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, as well as in the General Assembly of Russian Orthodox Bishops in Moscow. Patriarch Kirill asked me in particular to extend to all of you His Fatherly Blessings, prayerful good wishes and thanksgiving for all your efforts in the service to our Holy Russian Orthodox Church.

I join His Holiness in His gratefulness and would like to thank the Rector of our Cathedral archpriest Sergey Kiprianovitch for his fervent service, sermons, Biblical lessons, and dispensing of Holy Sacraments, as well as conducting funeral services. Also I wholeheartedly thank Fr. Mircha Panchuk for serving with us and for his convincing sermons and Deacon Andrei Boldireff for his exemplary serving as a deacon. Our choir with its director Julia also deserves special recognition and grateful love.

The distinctive appreciation is to be expressed to the President of our parish Council Roman Lopushinsky and to all the members of the Church Board for conducting monthly meetings, looking after the cathedral building, for the recent renovation of the church and installation of the new entrance doors.

I also would like to thank all the members of our Brotherhood and Sisterhood for their help; for the banquet on our Parish Feast Day and for all lunches organized throughout the year; for purchasing vestments for the clergy and the church. May our Lord reward all those of you who clean the church, and those who serve in the altar!

To those, who, during the past year, have for the first time come to our cathedral and took part in the services, I wish to become active parishioners and join our parish life, to love Christ and our Temple with the whole heart and soul. I thank all our congregation for the dynamic spiritual life, for your prayers and donations to keep up our Cathedral in a proper state, and for your all other almsgivings and good deeds in our Lord’s name.

Memory Eternal to all our parishioners who have passed away in the past year. May Our All-Merciful Lord give rest to their souls where the righteous repose! I also wish to extend my most sincere condolences to Matushka Vera on the passing of her mother…

I express gratitude all the participants of today’s assembly for your attendance and contribution and call for God’s Blessing upon your lives and deeds for the glory of His Holy Church and our mutual home — Saint Barbara’s Cathedral.
